Look for a cross-town rivalry to develop between the Galaxy 2, playing out of the Stub Hub Center and OC Soccer Club, playing from Great Park in Irvine with its own newly constructed soccer-specific stadium to open in July.
The OC Soccer Club was formerly the Orange County Blues and is making impressive strides under new owner James Keston and General Manager Oliver Wyss, a member of the Swiss Youth National Team and has played in So Cal with the former L.A. Salsa in the USISL Pro Division and for the Anaheim Splash in the CISL.
OC Soccer Club has a 10-year agreement with Los Angeles Football Club, the Major League Soccer Club that will begin play at its 22,000 seat Banc of California Stadium during the 2018 season.
